Marion Berry Lattice Pie


It's lame! Now that I am posting this, berry season is officially over here in the Pacific NW. Hopefully some of you here picked as much as you could and froze some. If that's the case then you can still make this :)

I like to do my pies...well...rustic looking. I think pies should look homey and not too perfect. High standards still people!


The only difference is I used marion berries instead of blackberries. I have a huge patch right next to my house. Marion berries are interesting. Imagine a blackberry and a blueberry had a baby (I know..another food love child analogy)...but that's what a marion berry tastes like. They look like a blackberry on steroids. They are huge and beautiful and bleed almost a bright maroon/pink juice...almost like a beet would. They're different..but still yummy!

I would liked to have had a pictures of an actual cut piece, but my family devoured it so fast I was barely able to take these.

I can't wait until next year's batch!
